James B. Evans & Associates, Landscape Architects / Site Planners, was established in 1970 in Lexington to provide a wide range of professional services to public and private clients and selected architectural and engineering offices. Primary services provided include planning for institutional, and recreational facilities; land planning; site design for commercial, recreational and multi-family residential development. In addition, landscape designs and planting plans are developed for all types of buildings and facilities.
We employ registered and graduate landscape architects with a combined total of over 50 years experience. We maintain a small staff, with our personnel oriented toward providing the highest quality of service for every project while maintaining close personal contact with each client. We work closely with architects, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and geotechnical engineers as site conditions and the program dictate during planning, design and construction of our projects.
We have completed campus planning projects for KCTCS facilities at Somerset Technical College, London Technical College and the downtown campus of Jefferson Community College. We will complete a Master Development Plan Update for Ashland Community and Technical College in the upcomming months. We have prepared a development plan for the interior of the campus, and more recently a memorial garden, for Somerset Community College.
We have been the Landscape Architect with responsibilities for site design and landscape plantings at the Academic Support/Technical Education Complex Phases I & II at Somerset Community College and the Warren County Technology Center in Bowling Green.
Our goals are to create functional outdoor spaces that meet the needs of the clients and users within the project budget while developing outdoor spaces for human use and enjoyment that are aesthetically pleasing and present a unique or distinctive character, all in harmony with adjacent structures. Our projects are traditionally on schedule and in budget.
As Landscape Architects, we are especially concerned with preserving the natural beauty of the existing environment and protecting the health, safety and welfare of the client and users. We strive to adapt the design elements to the site in a sensitive and artistic manner, using the positive characteristics of the site to achieve a successful solution for each project.
